In De Kist (The Casket) Herman Wegter drives an ochre-yellow vintage car around the Netherlands, meeting outspoken people along the way with whom he has openhearted conversations about life and death. He takes along a coffin to help find out how they think about mortality.

Mum is in addition to screenings at film festivals around the world, regularly shown at various social (care) institutions. Dutch Residential Care group Vitalis shows the documentary by Adelheid Roosen at its management meeting.

With Mum Roosen wants to capture how she sees her own mother appear in what she experiences, does and says with Alzheimer's disease. She wants to show and discuss the poetry of this situation with professionals, to improve the imaging and dealing with people with this disease.

Alliance Partner TA adopts Community Jury #1

Adelheid Roosen brought this group of women together to bring theatre in touch with this new audiences. Twelve women with different cultural backgrounds and living in various districts of Amsterdam, visited 25 theatrical performances in that season. They spoke afterwards with creators and attended theater rehearsals. In those meetings, they developed their own voice and vision of the performances and the Dutch theater. TA cherishes these special women of the Community Jury #1, this season they will visit three TA-plays, starting with In Ongenade (In Disgrace).  

The method of the Community Jury is a success: Community Jury #3 has been appointed and Utrecht (Dutch city) has its own Jury this season.

Roosen thinks along about new forms elderly care

The congress about working together and investing in better care for the elderly begins with fragments from the short documentary Mum. Adelheid Roosen will present her vision on ageing dignified and talk with the staff of care center-Vilans about increasing the knowledge and expertise.

Break the grip of domestic violence - talk about it!

Relational violence is still the most common form of violence in the Netherlands. Unfortunately it is a big taboo-issue. Empowerment against domestic violence begins with the discussion about this topic. Therefore FNV Women's Foundation organizes with Adelheid Roosen | Female Economy, Amsterdam Centre for Domestic Violence and experts, a meeting for women (organizations) who want to start this conversatioan and break the grip of domestic violence.

The evening is organized by the FNV Women's Foundation and SAVO Foundation. In collaboration with many other organizations, with funding from the City of Amsterdam and the Ministry of Security and Justice.

On November 25, 2011 Peter Rehwinkel, Mayor of the Dutch city Groningen, will be installed in the Central Public Library as new ambassador for standing together against domestic violence. Rehwinkel takes over Adelheid Roosen's function, at least for the province of Groningen.

Violence Stories Caravan stops in Amsterdam and Ede

Monday November the 28th Female Economy , ZinaPlatform and Pakhuis de Zwijger organise a special evening with the Amsterdam premiere of the audio/visual installation Violence Stories Caravan.
During an intimate diner you can watch and listen to the stories about domestic violence. There will be a dialogue about this topc betwees you, Adelheid Roosen, police officers, 'offenders', 'victims' and professionals on domestic violence in a round table discussion led by Hassnae Bouazza.

Mum screened at University of Nicosia

Adelheid Roosen is with her award-winning documentary in Cyprus. The film will be screened during the week of Soapbox Media Zone - University of Nicosia. After the screening Roosen will talk with artist Nicolas Panayi, Antigoni Diakou - Director PanCyprian Alzheimer's Association and Dean of the School of Humanities University of Nicosia Dr. Constantinos Fellas about the disease and their experiences.

Gender Monologues in Groningen

Nazmiye Oral's Gender Monologues will be performed on the stage of Forum Images, by the actors of NNT. The Gender stories were collected by ZinaPlatform and Female Economy.

Transgender Group Groningen and Groningen Forum organise this third National Trandgender Day: GENDER. With lectures, films, a talk show and theater.

The day starts at 11.45 h and ends with the afterparty Queerpop from 21.30 h.
